Date: ca. 1910s.
Bears Sozan signature and seal.
Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo.
Reference: The Edward Burr Van Vleck Collection of Japanese Prints.
Condition: Excellent with light creasing and browning near left and right margins. Pencil number on back.
Provenance: The Bedford, NY estate of Eleanor Jay and Arthur Iselin. Eleanor Jay was a descendant of United States founding father, John Jay. Their Bedford home is now the John Jay Homestead historic site.
Note: The prints in this Eleanor Jay collection are all pre-earthquake. This breathtaking print is extremely rare. The Van Vleck example was the only other we could locate.
